UK wildlife photography competition - 2009 -Landscape results

Wildlife Extra UK wildlife photography competition - 'Landscapes' finalists

There were some beautiful photographs but unfortunately most fell into the chocolate box category. This is not to diminish them, but too often they look like 'nice view, nice photograph' I.E. they do not inspire. They could no doubt be lucrative ones but we are looking for more. So we have not awarded a runner up in this category, but the winner was very easy to choose.

The winner is Robert Canis for his stunning shot of Elmley Marshes

This is different, this is bold, this is blinding. Well done Robert, exquisite use of wide angle and polarizer. I see linear angles morphing with reflections and soft scudding clouds, what a view, what a moment, what a photograph.   Taken on The Isle of Sheppey, Kent. Robert was also the runner up in the Mammal section for his running badger.
