Anstey Hill Recreation Park
Anstey Hill Recreation Park provides an insight into the area's history and conserves rare vegetation once widespread throughout the Adelaide Plains and Mount Lofty Ranges.The park's steep gullies, creek lines and views of Adelaide city provide a spectacular backdrop for bushwalkers, birdwatchers, photographers and painters to enjoy. Be sure to visit in spring when the wildflowers and orchids are in bloom over the steep slopes.
The extensive network of walking trails showcase the park's variety of plant species and habitats.
Wildlife highlights: Many animals call this area home, including echidnas, brush-tailed possums, western grey kangaroos and koalas. There are also 145 species of native birds to look out for.
You can walk your dog in this park provided it remains under your control on a lead.
Location: Anstey Hill Recreation Park is located 16km north east of Adelaide. Access is via Perseverance Road
Entry is free.
