Sissinghurst Castle Gardens, National trust

butterflies/Sissinghurst[1]
Sissinghurst Castle Gardens are one of the top ten National trust sites for butterflies.

Butterflies of Sissinghurst Catle Gardens

One of the best gardens in the world, and also seriously good for butterflies and dragonflies. Grassland butterflies like Gatekeeper and Meadow Brown breed in the surrounding paddocks and wander into the garden for nectar and shelter during July and August, and woodland butterflies like Speckled Wood, White Admiral and Silver-washed Fritillary bumble in from the nearby woods.

Location: Sissinghurst Castle is 2 miles north east of Cranbrook, 1 mile east of Sissinghurst village on the Biddenden Road, off the A262.
