BDMLR SW National Conference
British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) is pleased to announce its second National Conference to be held later this year in Bristol, on the 4th of December. It is open to all BDMLR Marine Mammal Medics, and to the general public.There will be a nine very special guests speaking on a wide range of marine topics to interest everyone who loves the seas and oceans. There will also be a number of charity stands from a wide range of animal welfare and conservation groups. It will be an educating, enlightening, and entertaining day that we are sure that you won't want to miss.
Tickets sales
Until the 31st of August, tickets will only cost £7.50 instead of the normal price of £10.00. After paying for the cost of the conference, all money will be donated directly and in full to BDMLR to continue its marine mammal rescue work. BDMLR was formed by a group of divers in 1988 in response to the deaths of a large number of seals in the Wash area of East Anglia. It is now a committed 24 hr rescue service. BDMLR now train over 500 Marine Mammal Medics a year and have 20 whale rescue pontoons located at strategic points throughout the UK waiting to help stranded whales and dolphins. There are over 3000 volunteers nationwide. In 2006, BDMLR lead the attempt to rescue the ‘Thames Whale'.
