Spend the day with a ranger
Tuesday 14 June (10 am to 5 pm)
Get a special look behind the scenes at our local RSPB and National Trust reserves. Spend the morning with the National Trust Ranger and walk to a nearby flower rich meadow, see and hear its buzzing wildlife and explore its hidden underground secrets. Visit the magical Burton Well Wood and create a woodland craft product to take home. After a ten minute walk back to Leighton Moss, you can enjoy a delicious home-made lunch, before you join the RSPB Leighton Moss Warden for the afternoon. You will then take a walk on a butterfly transect, visit the bittern monitoring station, find out how we control water levels to the site and get up close to the experimental reedbed restoration areas.
