WWT London Wetland Centre photography competition - win amazing Nikon equipment
Spring is a great time to watch wildlife and enjoy the great outdoors. Blossoming trees, blankets of bluebells and people enjoying the first warm days of the year - spring is a season when plants, animals and even humans leap back into life. Come along and snap images of spring, whether it is a group of fluffy ducklings or people enjoying a walk by the wetlands, and you could be our next winner.
Prizes
There are some fantastic prizes to be won, including the superb Nikon D60 digital SLR camera with 18-55mm and 55-200mm lenses, or a Coolpix P5100 camera and a Fieldscope ED 82mm, as well as the lightweight and compact Travelite EX binoculars for the regional winners.
Categories
The competition aims to capture the variety of WWT's nine centres across three categories:
- ‘WWT Nikon Photo of the Year',
- ‘WWT Nikon Junior Photo of the Year'
- ‘WWT Nikon Digiscoping Photo of the Year'.
The judging panel, which includes wildlife photographer Chris Packham and editor of Bird Watching, Kevin Wilmot, is looking for variety, innovation and imagination, as well as technical accomplishment. For example, your image might capture a special moment, depict specific behaviour or tell an imaginative story.
The main rule of the competition is that all photos submitted must have been taken at one of the nine WWT centres in the UK. For full terms and conditions visit http://www.wwt.org.uk/. WWT is hoping that the competition will encourage people to visit a WWT centre and even help support the charity by joining as a member. Membership allows visits to the nine WWT centres for free.
Closing date for entries is Monday 8 September 2008.
