Marsden Moor Bog Project Officer

National Trust

Closing date: Monday, February 6, 2012

Why Should You Apply?:
About the role
Spread across a windswept ecological paradise in the Yorkshire Moors, Marsden Moor Estate really is an amazing place to come and visit. But how do we care for this special place and help everyone enjoy it? It's no small feat. In fact, it's a big team effort. And, as part of our talented team, you'll provide expert project management advice and guidance as you help us deliver our blanket bog restoration project.

Delivering projects on time and on budget is what excites you. Organised and meticulous, you'll be on hand to arrange and supervise contractors undertaking moorland restoration work across the site. Whether it's consultation with local communities, external agencies, local authorities or National Trust advisors, you'll ensure that we're taking a consistent approach to professional project management and that stakeholders are involved and informed at all times. You'll also be responsible for the planning and delivery of a volunteer led ecological monitoring programme and be happy to manage the project budget and undertake any grant claims as appropriate.

About you
Project management is your area of expertise and the continued protection of the countryside is your passion. Having successfully managed projects in a multi-disciplinary environment (working with multi-disciplinary teams), you've the proven ability to make things happen, to get things done, but essentially to deliver to the highest standards. You'll have an in-depth understanding of project management tools and techniques and have experience of working in the countryside.. You'll also be a confident negotiator and presenter, diplomatic and decisive, able to influence those around you and have a full driving licence.

Incredibly rewarding
Do great things for us and we'll do great things for you and your career. We'll give you all the training, support and continued professional development you need, and we appreciate that work/life balance is important. You can also look forward to free admission to all our incredible places, and a helpful 20% off at our shops, cafes and restaurants. But they're just the benefits we can tell you about here.
