Eco hostels put the good of the environment at the centre of what they do, and their customers of course. Hostelling International Washington DC

Hostelling International Washington DC is one of the few hostels in the world to have Energy Star certification. As part of their commitment to being a steward of the environment, this Washington hostel uses compact fluorescent light bulbs, paper made from at least 95% recyclable materials, push faucets on sinks, Green Seal Certified cleaning products and low VOC paints and carpets.

In an effort to educate guests, HI Washington also provides information on recycling and environment throughout the property and hosts monthly documentary movie nights on environmental topics.

The hostel is located in downtown Washington DC just 8 blocks from The White House and The National Mall and just steps away from loads of bars and restaurants to keep you busy.
