April 2011. Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust are celebrating their 50th Anniversary by launching an online only photography competition to find 12 winning photos for a Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust 2012 Calendar.

Get out there!
Entitled ‘Get out there!' this competition is asking the general public to enjoy the diverse wildlife and wild places that Hampshire and the Isle of Wight has to offer and have some fun taking photos at the same time.

Sponsored by Castle Cameras, entrants can load their photos by following the link to the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust's website. Budding photographers can download a ‘top tips' leaflet designed by Castle Cameras which shows the basics to taking great photos. 

Castle Cameras are also supplying the prize of a £150 voucher to use in one of their stores; however the real prizes are the 12 winning photos which will be used to create the 2012 calendar which will be on sale over Christmas 2011.

Being in their 50th year the Wildlife Trust wants to engage new audiences and members by having the competition as an online only. If people don't have access to the internet the Trust can always help direct them to local libraries that have free internet access for all.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust's 50th Anniversary fundraising officer Julie Bythell said," We really want to encourage anyone and everyone to get out there and have some fun taking photos, they might be surprised by the results and what better reason to get out there and enjoy the wildlife."
