Three seizures in three days: four leopard skins, two tusks recovered; 10 arrested

14/03/2010 14:56:30 March 2010: Four leopard skins and two elephant tusks have been confiscated from traders in three separate undercover operations in India. Ten people were arrested following operations by authorities in Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh, assisted by the Wildlife Trust of India (WTI).

Two elephant tusks were recovered and five traders were arrested by Tamil Nadu Forest Department officials

Leopard skins seized
Two leopard skins were seized in Uttar Pradesh by the state's Special Task Force. Two traders were arrested.

Two more leopard skins were recovered in Tamil Nadu. Three persons, including one who reportedly confessed to poaching the animals, were apprehended. The gun used to kill the leopards was recovered too.
