19/01/2007 00:00:00 During recent herpetofaunal investigations in the Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park in Central Vietnam, a remarkable scincid lizard was collected. At first glance, the specimen appeared similar to Lygosoma carinatum, (First described a decade ago by Darevsky & Orlova)

However, further investigations showed that is a newly recognised lizard, Lygosoma boehmei, named in honour of Professor Dr Wolfgang Böhme, vice director of the Zoological Research Museum Alexander Koenig in Bonn.
