Max was a semi-tame rhino that like on Ol Pejeta - But that didn't protect him.

Create a legal and controlled market for rhino horn.

January 2012. Michael Eustace is an investment analyst who has studied the problem of rhino poaching from a financial point of view. He has suggested a radical solution as part of a very in depth essay on the subject. Whether you agree with Eustace's ideas, it is a well written piece that is a very worthwhile read.

A very  short version would be that a centrally run rhino horn market that sold its product to the Chinese government would stamp out almost all of the illegal trade and provide large funds to boost conservation - All without killing any rhinos at all.

Mr Eustace idea could be an answer. Needs to be tested NOW.
