It appears that someone had misguidedly released a pair of beavers into the wild in Scotland, near the Bridge of Earn, Perthshire. Although various bodies have been seeking permission to release beavers into the wild in Scotland, no permission has yet been granted, and it is thought that someone has taken the matter into their own hands. This solitary beaver, believed to be a European beaver, is now ensconced in Edinburgh Zoo, while the search goes on for his/her mate.
