Sea eagle reintroduction in Cornwall and Wales - Or the Isle of Wight Last week we asked you to vote on various schemes, real and imagined, about where, or if, to reintroduced Sea eagles into the UK. The results of our entirely unpresentative and statistically unsound survey shwed that a large majority of the voters thought that Sea eagles should be reintroduced multiple locations. The least popular possibility was the Isle of Wight, even gh that was where they last nested in England. 9% of you thought that they should not be reintroduced at all. Click here to read more, or to leave your thoughts on the debate. We asked:- Given the current fuss over the reintroduction of sea eagles into Suffolk, and the amount of wild land and space Sea eagles need, why not choose Cornwall & Wales. Suffolk is one of the wealthier counties in the UK, but an extra £2 million per year in tourism revenue would be very attractive to the people of Cornwall and West Wales. England's last recorded nesting pair, back in the 18th century, were on the Isle of Wight, so perhaps we should look there too? Should Sea eagles be reintroduced in England & Wales? The reults were as follows ![]() Most of you thought that we should reintroduce Sea eagles into Suffolk, Wales, Cornwall and the Isle of Wight. Photo credit Natural England.

Reintroduction is a scientif tool to help endangered species under special conditions. There are rules for it by the IUCN and others.
The decisson of reintroduction or not should not put to vote by the public. Even if the public meaning is an important factor in such projects.
