Donald Trump backs down over Compulsory purchase

31/01/2011 14:19:43 Compulsory purchase orders should not be used for commercial gain

January 2011. Donald Trump has backed down from threatening the use of Compulsory Purchase Orders against the residents of the village of Menie; a very welcome development for those who think that CPO's should not be enforced for private commercial gain.

It was the Trump Organisation's approach to the council to use Compulsory Purchase Orders that sparked the launch of the Tripping Up Trump (TUT) campaign, and it has since fought hard to make sure Trump backed down.

This day has come and for now thousands of members share will take a huge sigh of relief, alongside the families of Menie, whose homes have been under threat for too long.

Leave off our Mol'
TUT hopes that this could also mean that Trump will now stop trying to push Molly Forbes into bankruptcy too.
