Insect of the week

The Hummingbird Hawkmoth (Macroglossum Stallatarum) is one of the UK's most distinctive moths - The clue is in the name. Almost always seen hovering in front of garden flowers, these moths can be heard as well as seen as their wings create an audible hum, and with their long proboscis they look and behave remarkably like humming birds.
