There are dozens of guide books to Kenya, but this one has a different slant. Not so much a guide book to take with you (Take it anyway), but a guide for before you go. Not designed for the independent traveller or backpacker, this guide is purely aimed at those of you planning an escorted tour. This saves a lot of space on bus timetables and obscure hotels, but actually caters to a great number of visitors to Kenya.
It details the different safari locations in Kenya, how to get to them and between them, what to expect at each and which camps and tour operators to use to get the best from your trip. It doesn't have detailed descriptions of each species you might see, but it will tell you where and how you might to to see them. Many of the lodges have been visited by the author (those that have are marked "Tried and tested").
