Bieszczady National Park
Bieszczady is Poland’s largest mountain national, and is part of Europe’s largest primeval beech forest. There is a well developed network of paths designed for walking, cycling and cross country skiing. A special attraction for visitors is the opportunity to explore with the unique Hucul horses on a series of specially developed mountain horse trails.
A climb to the highest point of Bieszczady - Mount Tarnica, offers a great view over the park and excellent opportunities to capture this stunning landscape on camera.

Highlights: Plenty of them. Large mammals are abundant; Lynx, wolf and bear all live here, and European bison were reintroduced in the 60's. High concentrations of deer make up the prey for the carnivores, and beaver, wild boar and a host of smaller mammals are all common.
Spotted eagle, Honey buzzard, Golden eagle, Booted eagle, Eagle owl and Ural Owl head the list of raptors. no less than 8 species of woodpecker can be found here, as well as Ring Ouzel, Crested tit and Spotted Nutcracker and many many more.
Location and access: About 300kms from Krakow and 170 kms from Rzeszow. Roads can be difficult in winter.
Admission fees : there is a daily entrance fee to the Bieszczady National Park of 4 PLN per adult and 2 PLN per child/student, pensioners pay only half the total price (2007). Some special groups of visitors can be free of admission fees e.g. people with disabilities.
