Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park
Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park in Central Georgia is huge, covering 76,000 hectares, one of the largest in Europe. The area is deep in history, and many of the surrounding villages and churches have long histories that are still visible in the well preserved architecture.
Highlights: This is wild, mountainous, forested land, and holds most of the large wildlife found anywhere in Europe. Brown bears, wolves, lynx, wild boar, Red deer and even a healthy population of lynx.
Birds: Best known for flocks of yellow bee-eaters there is a huge variety of birds.
How to get there: Borjomi-Kharagauli is about 2.5 hours by car.
