Car Park: £1. Reserve: Free to RSPB members and residents of Havering & Thurrock. Non-members: £2.50 adult, £1 child, £6 family (two adults and up to four children).
Location: From the M25: Exit M25 at junction 31 Follow signs to Dagenham (A1306). Continue on A1306 past Circus Tavern on left-hand side. Across roundabout, take the third exit (M25 north). Continue to the traffic lights. At the lights turn left, (signposted A1090 to Purfleet and Purfleet train Station) onto flyover New Tank Hill Road. The entrance to the reserve is located approximately 300 metres from this junction, just after the bottom of the flyover on the right hand side.

Rainham, Wennington and Aveley Marshes RSPB
There are only a few ancient landscapes left in London and this RSPB reserve is one of them. Bought from the Ministry of Defence in July 2000, its former use as shooting ranges has preserved much of the original medieval land-form and marshland wildlife and is now the largest remaining expanse of wetland bordering the upper reaches of the Thames Estuary.Highlights: Water voles, Avocet, Lapwing, Little egret, Ringed plover.
