Annstead Dunes Nature Reserve
Annstead Dunes sit at the back of the bay between North Sunderland Point and Dell Point. You will see grazing cattle and Exmoor ponies, which help control the growth of coarse grasses. This means a wider variety of plants can grow. Excellent names to look out for include bloody cranesbill, restharrow and hounds-tongue.
Wildlife Highlights: The beach provides an important feeding site for many waders, including redshank, ringed plover, curlew and sanderling.
Location & Access: Between Beadnell and Seahouses on the B1340, car parking can be found at the lay-by on the main road.
Grid reference: NU225305
