Barlow Fell

The Lower Derwent Valley was chosen as the re-introduction site for Red kites in the North East of England, and Barlow Fell is one of the best places to see them.

What you might see at Barlow Fell: Black headed gull, blackbird, Blue tit, bullfinch, buzzard, Carrion crow, chaffinch, Collared dove, Common gull, fieldfare, goldfinch, Greater Spotted woodpecker, Great tit, greenfinch, House sparrow, kestrel, magpie, pheasant, Red kite, redwing, robin, rook, sparrowhawk, starling, Tree sparrow, woodpidgeon, wren.
