Blasket Island wildlife
On his Eco Marine Adventure Tours abord MV Blasket Princess (with a flying bridge for watching wildlife) he brings his passengers on scenic wildlife boat trips and uses his intimate knowledge of the local marine environment to locate visiting and resident marine species and birdlife.
Amongst the most frequently observed species are grey seals, basking sharks, common, bottlenose and risso's dolphins, minke whales harbour porpoises and sunfish, with an occasional sighting of humpback and killer whales.
The islands support breeding colonies of puffins, arctic terns, manx shearwater, storm petrels, kittiwakes, guillemots, razorbills and fulmars.
