College Lake Nature Reserve

Seasonal highlights not to miss

  • Wild daffodils, bluebells and cowslips in spring
  • A blaze of colour with corncockle, pheasant's eye and cornflower in summer
  • A bustling community of wildfowl and waterbirds, including waders, great crested grebe, wigeon, teal, little winged plover and snipe in winter.

College Lake provides a wildlife experience for the whole family. A former chalk quarry, near Tring, this reserve has been transformed into a thriving centre for wildlife and supports over 1,000 species. It boasts panoramic views of the surrounding farmland and Chiltern hills and is now a haven for many migrating birds.
