Daneshill Gravel Pits
The 16 hectares of Daneshill Gravel Pits contains disused and flooded gravel pits. There are a vriety of habitats including open water, damp willow woodland, dry woodland and scrub, and rabbit-grazed dry grassland, and a wide variety of flowering plants can be found.
Wildlife Highlights: Willow warbler, whitethroat and blackcap breed in summer, and in winter siskin, water rail and goldcrest can be seen. Some wildfowl occur outside the breeding season. This is also a good site for damselflies and dragonflies.
Location & Access: Near the village of Torworth on the A638 north of Worksop. Parking is available nearby.
There is a path around the outside of the reserve.
