Eastnor Castle Park
Eastnor Castle isn't as old as it first appears, but it is magnificent setting at the foot of the Malvern Hills. The castle was built at the time of Waterloo (1815 for the ignorami) at huge cost, and it was designed by famous architects such as Augustus Pugin (House of Parliament in London). The grounds are laid out around the lake, and it is possible to walk through the woods and heaths to the Malvern Hills.
NB Access can be restricted when there is a special event on.
Wildlife highlights: There are some 200 red deer in the deer park. Redstart and spotted flycatchers breed here, and you may also see buzzards, Blackcap, Garden warblers, Chiffchaff, Willow warblers, Meadow Pipit, Willow warbler, Whitethroat, little owl, Linnets, yellowhammers, Reed buntings, Sparrowhawk and nightlingales.

Location. Eastnor lies on the western side of the Malvern Hills; The Castle is 2½ miles east of Ledbury on the A438 Tewkesbury road.
