Firth of Forth sea bird cruises.Boat trips offer fantastic wildlife spectacle on Edinburgh's doorstep. The Forth seabird cruise programme runs from May to July and will help you get up close and personal with the spectacular bird and marine life right on the doorstep of Fife and the Lothians. The summer cruises will take you very close to the small islands that host tens of thousands of nesting seabirds. RSPB Scotland guides will be on hand to help wildlife enthusiasts identify individual species and to find out more about the vast bird cities.

Wildlife HighlightsThe inner islands of the Firth of Forth are brimming with birdlife - resplendent puffins in their bright breeding colours, kittiwakes, cormorants and shags can all be seen whilst cruising on the MV Maid of the Forth, past the islands of Inchgarvie, Inchcolm, Inchkeith and Inchmickery (an RSPB reserve). Guillemots, razorbills, eider ducks and a host of gull species are all guaranteed, several species of tern, including the sandwich tern and the world's most travelled migrant, the Arctic tern, as well as the increasingly rare roseate tern, and possibly even the world's fastest bird the peregrine falcon. People will also have the chance to see seals, and extremely lucky cruise trippers might also catch a fleeting glimpse of dolphins or a porpoise as it hunts in the Forth. | Location & cost
