Hergest Ridge
There is some wildlife here, but it is a glorious, and not difficult, walk. There are well defined paths and views down to the Black Mountain and Hay Bluff to the south, Radnor Hills to the north-west and The Malverns to the east and England's highest golf course (Kington) is just across the valley.
Wildlife highlights: Wild ponies abound, and small heath butterflies litter the floor in summer.
Birds: Buzzard, Redstart, Linnet, Skylark, Stonechat, Tree Pipit and Wheatear can all be seen.
Location: Just outside of Kington, follow the sings to Hergest Croft but drive on past up the hill and park at the top of the road. Can also be approached from Gladestry.
