Holtspur Bottom Butterfly Reserve

4.5 hectares of Chalk grassland converted from arable farmland under a Countryside Stewardship Agreement.

Highlights: The following butterflies are already found in Holtspur Valley and are already breeding or expected to breed on the reserve as its condition improves: Grizzled Skipper and Dingy Skipper, Dark Green Fritillary, Purple Hairstreak, Small Blue.

Moths: The moths recorded to date include Striped Lychnis breeding on the reserve.


Location & Access: The reserve entrance lies down Riding Lane, which leads off Holtspur Top Lane on the west side of Beaconsfield. Parking on the lane side is limited.
