uk/UK_reserves/Letcombe_valley
Letcome Brook, a chalk stream, runs the length of the 7.5 hectare reserve. Chalk stream habitat is very rare world wide and in England is found only in the south and east. The stream is home to water voles, bullheads and brook lampreys, all protected species.

Wildlife highlights: Other wildlife recorded on the reserve include: brown hare, kingfisher, white-clawed crayfish and five species of bat including Daubenton's and brown long-eared.

Location: Access to the site will be either from South Street (via the muddy track to the top of the field) or via the footpath that runs between Blandys Farm Cottages and Blandys Barn obliquely opposite the cricket ground on Bassett Road, Letcombe Regis, OX12 9LJ‎.

These maps are intended as a guideline only; you must check the exact location of the reserve yourself. Wildlife Extra assumes no responsibility for the accuracy or usefulness of the information on this website.
