Little Skellig Bird Island
A small, remote, precipitous rocky island rising some 130 metres out of the sea.
Highlights: Home to a spectacular total of 20,000 pairs of breeding Gannets, one of the largest colonies in the world and of international importance.
Location & access: Little Skeelig is some 11 km south-west of Valentia Island. Landing is not permitted, though good views can be had from a boat. Contact Des Lavelle (Tel: 066-9476124) for information on boat trips
