Ryton Wood SSI

One of the county’s largest (84.8 hectares) surviving semi-natural ancient woodlands with oak, hazel and small leaved lime coppice. Extensive network of lovely grassy rides and open glades.

Highlights: Important for butterflies and birds.

Location: 1.5 km South of Ryton on Dunsmore. Members only parking on track off A423.
