Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve
The 55 hectare Sevenoaks Wildlife Reserve is roughly 50-50 water and land. There are five lakes as well as a mixed habitat of ponds, seasonally flooded pools, reedbeds, and woodland. A wide variety of birds can be found here. The site was previously a large gravel extraction pit and was one of the first to be preserved as a wildlife habitat.
Wildlife Highlights: Siskins, little ringed plovers, lapwings, great crested grebe, tufted duck, greylag geese, greenshank, green sandpipers, reed warblers and sedge warblers.
Access & Facilities: The reserve is open from dawn till dusk every day. The Jeffery Harrison Visitor Centre is open from 10 - 5 PM on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays (10 - 4PM November - April).
