Warnham Local Nature Reserve
The reserve has an unusual mix of different habitats, including : open water, reedbeds, marshland, meadow, hedgerow and both broad-leafed and coniferous woodland. It is run by a small and enthusiastic team from the Leisure Services Dept. of Horsham District Council.
Highlights: Herons, water birds, Green and Greater spotted woodpeckers, butterflies, dragonflies and damselflies.
Location: Warnham Local Nature Reserve is just off the A24 (signposted) in north Horsham.
Admission: Between April and September, an Information Point, at the Reserve entrance (behind the cafe), staffed by the Friends of WLNR, will be open Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.
With effect from 01 April 2009 - Annual permits will be £6 for residents of Horsham District Council area and £12 for elsewhere. Day permits cost £1.
From March to October, the Reserve is open between 1000 and 1800 daily.
November to February timings will be posted when applicable.
