WWT Arundel
With a new visitor centre surrounded by ancient woodland and overlooked by the town's historic castle, this is a glorious place to watch wildlife. The wetlands at Arundel are home to many rare species of wetland wildlife.
Highlights: There is a huge variety of birdlife and other wildlife here. Unusual species include redshank, lapwing, snipe, oystercatcher, siskin, redpoll, five different tits (including bearded) and a wide range of warblers. Dragonflies and butterflies are numerous in season and water voles still breed here. Grass snakes are often seen in summer too.
Location: WWT Arundel is close to the A27 & A29. On approaching Arundel by road, the centre is clearly signed. By foot from Arundel railway station, it is half a mile to Arundel Town and a further, gentle mile along Mill Road to the Trust.
