Chimney Meadows Nature Reserve

Chimney Meadows near Bampton in west Oxfordshire totals 250 hectares of wildlife rich land along the banks of the River Thames.

Work is continuing to transform the area into a spectacular site for people and wildlife.

Highlights: This vast and tranquil area of fields, pastures and nationally acclaimed wildflower meadows is a vital refuge for waders. Location: 9 miles west of Abingdon. On Buckland to Bampton road; part at Tadpole bridge 1¾ miles north of A420 junction; walk east along Thames Path for 1¼ miles. The terrain is flat, but bumpy underfoot, soft in winter; bridge and gates
