The flower-rich woodland rides are a magnet for butterflies such as the scarce wood white, whose caterpillars feed on vetches. Location: 4½ miles north of Milton Keynes centre. On the B526 north from Newport Pagnell; take raod on left to Haversham; after ½ mile, take private road on right; follow track for 1 mile. Surfaced car park, 100 m past Dairy Farm.

Little Linford Wood Nature Reserve
A wonderful mixture of old and new in north Bucks. This old oak and ash woodland has a dense understorey of hazel and blackthorn. The dense regrowth of younger woodland is much favoured by small mammals including dormice.
